The Library
At the heart of the Modawa Institute lies a growing treasure: a library of over 14,000 volumes, rooted deeply in Melanesian theology, history, and culture. These shelves tell our story—where we’ve come from, what we value, and most importantly, where we are going.
As the Institute grows as a nationally registered Higher Education Institution under DHERST, our library is evolving into a multidisciplinary academic hub—one that prepares students not just for exams, but for a lifetime of service, leadership, and community impact.
Equipping Future Leaders
In the past year alone, we’ve added over 1,000 new titles in teacher education, expanding our capacity to train and equip future educators. We are actively growing our collection to support the:
School of Teaching
The forthcoming School of Nursing
Programs in community health, leadership, and practical ministry
Each new book added is a step forward in our mission to train men and women who will go out into communities across Papua New Guinea to preach the Word, teach the next generation, and bring healing in body and spirit.
Accessible to All
Learning should never be out of reach. That’s why the Modawa Library is designed with inclusivity at its core—from its wheelchair-accessible entrance to the open, easy-to-navigate interior. We believe that every person, regardless of physical ability, should have full access to knowledge and opportunity.
Built with Generosity
Much of what you see today has been made possible through the generosity of our friends and partners—particularly from overseas. Their gifts of books, resources, and support have transformed our library from a small collection into a vital center of learning.
We are deeply grateful—and we recognize that we could not have done it alone.
An Invitation to Join Us
As we look to the future, our vision remains clear: to prepare students who will return to their communities to serve with wisdom, compassion, and conviction. But we cannot build this future alone.
We invite you—whether you are a prospective student, a parent, a donor, or a supporter of education and faith-based service—to join us.
Your ongoing support, whether through donations, partnerships, or resources, will help strengthen this library and, through it, the hearts and minds of the next generation.
Together, we can raise up a new wave of leaders who will preach, teach, and heal across Papua New Guinea—advancing the mission of Modawa and the hope of a stronger, more educated nation.
